A few weeks ago I put up the old style DoorDam panels, 2 Mullions, and J-Braces.  It took me 45 minutes.

Today, with our new 2010 style system, at the threat of an approaching storm, I put up the new panels and Mullions in 11 minutes.  A big improvement!

Hello, we purchased our DoorDams from your company about 3 or 4 years ago.   Because we were flooded 2 times with over $95,000 in damage and over one year to make all the repairs, we never wanted that again.

The doors were installed when we made the purchase years ago and never put up after that.   With the last storm, it was so good to have these doors for both my garage doors. My wife and I had the doors up in about  hour.  The removable sealant worked GREAT. The water stayed out and the house was dry.

I cannot tell you what piece of mind to have some way to stop the water from coming into your home.

Hi
Installed both of my doordams. Both seem that they will do the job. Have lived here for 30 years and always got a very tight feeling in my chest when the forecast said heavy rain.  WELL NOT NOW !!!!!
Went through one very bad flood 5 years ago and lost a great deal.......I am ready for the water now!!!! Even if I never use them I know I no longer have to worry about a flood.

Thank you DoorDam.

UPDATE March, 2010

Had to deploy my doordams 24hrs after installing them....WOW did I sleep good that night. The water did not come high enough but I was ready and didn't worry.

I just wanted to take moment to thank you and your company for such an outstanding product. Yes, I thought the price tag was a bit high at first, but after receiving and installing, the peace of mind I'll get is worth it. The instructions and packet made my install very easy. The only suggestion I would make is that for a few dollars more, you might consider including a smaller size carbon drill bit to get things going. The larger one that came with the product was very easy to use when drilling through the mortar, but I also had to drill through brick which was very tough and hard on the large bit.

Fortunately I had some smaller size carbon drill bits and this allowed me to drill a smaller pilot hole through the brick, then I used the larger drill bit provided and this allowed me to more easily drill through the brick.

The whole operation from start to finish took about 1.5 hours. This included me taking 'extra' precautionary steps along the way and also adding the silicon at the end. After seeing it installed, my wife thinks it over-the-top, but when we have another hard rain, I'm sure she'll agree it is worth it for peace of mind.

Anyway, thanks again for all your support and for a great product. I hope it never has to be tested, but I feel confident it will hold back the level of flooding we might encounter.

Regards

Your product performed for us during hurricane Ike.  The doors sealed as
advertised and kept the storm surge out.

Due to our low lying area, we install the doors every time there is a
forecast for severe weather in our area.  Because we use these doors
frequently, is there any maintenance that is required to keep them
operational?

Thank you for your product.

I deployed my door dams recently when the storm that hit La.(Gustav) came by the west coast of Fl.  This was the first time I had to put all of them up.  I must say it was much much easier than messing with sandbags!  The river water came within about 20 yards of my house, but did not flood as predicted (thank God)!  We were lucky that the surge was not as high due to the storm moved by quite quickly. The dams deployed without any problems, although I think if I had to do it over again, I could have gotten a size smaller on some of them.  This would make it easier to fit them in the mullions and brackets as I have to retract them almost fully to get them in. (This was not a problem, just added a little time to the task).  I have several friends that have asked to see them so maybe you'll get some more customers from Crystal River!  Thank you for producing a quality product!

Prior to purchasing my DoorDam I had to pre-construct my own barricade using a 3/4 inch sheet of plywood, tarp, cinder blocks, bricks and sand bags. It would uually take about two or three hours to install. Now with the DoorDam I can install it in about 30 to 45 minutes with as good or better results.

I’ve had flooding problems in my backyard here in Westchester, prompting my buy of your product. I’ve had them installed across the garage for the last year & they’ve been effective in stopping the flow of water into the garage & basement. There has been some seepage underneath the door dams into the garage, which I would still like to eliminate, but they’ve served their purpose in securing the areas from flooding.

We live in lower Westchester County, New York which has areas that are prone to flash flooding.  In the past, part of our house has gotten flooded. In the last 10 years, we have had about 3 floods, each up to 2 feet of water in the basement. We have an above ground basement that leads out to the backyard.  I spent a lot of time researching the different products on the market, even in Europe.  I had contacted your company before it started selling the Door Dam to ask some questions on another product you sell and I was transferrred to someone in product development who told me about the DoorDam.  When it finally went on the market, I bought one.

It had never been tested until this weekend.  The river in our town rose and crested and there was about a foot and a half of water up against the back of the house and the sides for about 5 hours. I am thrilled to report, the Door Dam worked beautifully!  Except for a small wet area (about 2x2 feet right by the back door), the water stayed outside!  In the morning, I mopped up that little area, removed the door, rinsed it off and re-stored it.

I love it!  Thank you!

I have a construction background and I was impressed by the fact that they’re easy to deploy and that they work, because there are a lot of things on the market today that don’t do what they claim to do. They’re worth the money because my property and my house are my biggest investments and that’s what I’m protecting.

As a certified first-responder I would say that the DoorDam is most valuable in an emergency situation like a flash flood when people have to evacuate quickly. The DoorDam is well worth the money because it’s not only going to protect your home but it will do so time and time again. I would buy them for my own home and would encourage people in my community to buy them.

The DoorDam gives us peace of mind knowing that we won’t lose our antiques…something that the insurance can’t replace. They’re not expensive when you look at the amount of loss you’re going to incur if you don’t have it…it’s a no-brainer.

The DoorDam is wonderful. It’s easy to use, it’s easy to install. I was astonished at how well it works. It solves the problems of worrying about being flooded, having to prepare for being flooded and dealing with all the issues after you get flooded. For the price of my insurance deductible, I can buy a DoorDam.

I reside in South Florida and strangely enough I have a basement, which floods in severe tropical weather, I have been hunting for a solution, when I came across your company.  I found the customer service department very helpful and a timely response to my inquiry and order.  Fortunately, I have not had to use the door dam yet, but have it ready to go.  The installation was wasy and the deployment of the door dam is very easy also.  It looks to me like it will do the job.

I'd love to give a testimonial, only we haven't tested the doors yet, thank God, since they were installed we have not had a bad flood.  I'd be glad to give one on your cutomer service, which is top notch, when I ordered the wrong size.

We are in a 100 year drought so though my DoorDam is installed, I haven't had the occasion to use it yet.

I found the 800 service very useful and helpful in ordering and helping me understand how to best install the DoorDam.  It was easy to install and came with all the necessary parts so I didn't have to make a run to the hardware store.
